Frogdesign designed parts the windows media player for windows XP and put a case studie on their website.
extract:
frog first assembled cross-discipline teams of industrial, brand, and digital designers to develop a common vocabulary and process for problem solving. That process included materials and texture studies, concept sketching and, finally, 3D rendering. For the UI, one of the main directives was that it be softer and more inviting to the touch. To get that look, frog approached the UI design as if it were a product, giving it brushed aluminum textures, soft-yet-rich colors and dimensional lighting. A successful collaboration between frog's brand, product and digital group, in conjunction with Microsoft's designers, allowed this to happen.
