Emigre released a new collection of pictograms. It was designed by Martin Friedl at the Stuttgart Academy of Arts. Emigre said, that “Martin Friedl was inspired to expand on this project after a visit to Egypt, where he experienced ancient hieroglyphic ideograms in their original setting. This trip also made him aware of difficulties in trying to communicate with locals without a common alphabet. He got the idea to develop a comprehensive image-based language encompassing all areas of everyday life, allowing for communication beyond linguistic barriers.” (see Emigres Website)
This collection contains some quite beautiful pictograms. I love the beer and the toaster.
