Alberto Cairo created a document about infographics for the Multimedia Bootcamp 2005 in the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. “It contains a brief introduction to infographics, its history and rules, and a discussion of several real cases of elmundo.es online special and breaking-news presentations.”
“This is a tale about modern storytelling. As visual journalists, infographics designers who have made the move to the online world feel often lost in the sea of continuous changes and the demanding enviroment. An online infographic made only two years ago looks very old today, as we will see in further pages. And online designers and journalists are under a great deal of pressure to always offer their readers something new that takes advantage of the latest technologies and techniques: animation, multimedia, interactivity. This fact is really stressing, but there are ways of dealing with it.”
